Q:What's the story behind your nickname 'Bunny?' A:As a little girl, I had this habit of saying 'Wassup doc!'. I'd remember in the cartoons Bugs Bunny always saying it to weed himself out of trouble just before running away. So I thought well maybe it might work for me too, (because I was forever getting intro trouble) didn't work mind you, instead I ended up with a nickname I still haven't been able to shake off. I guess Bunny is also short for Ebony as well; E-bunny....get it! Q:Your character in Family Affairs is self-obsessed, hot-headed and generally a pain in the neck. Are there any similarities between you and the character you play? A:I can't say there's any real similarities between me and Yasmin. But often when a person meets an a soap actor, it is hard to separate the person concocted by the scriptwriters from the reality, and especially in my case, they become so entangled by expectation, that the fiction is often more exciting than the fact. Q:How does it make you feel to be one of the central characters of the main black family in Family Affairs? A:I see playing one of the central characters of Family Affairs a true blessing. There is so much unrecognised ethnic talent within the UK, so I'm proud to be one of the few. Q:In between teaching your own dance classes, learning your script and attending church, when do you have time to relax? Q:When do I have time to relax? A:Well, to be in honest I'm a bit of a workaholic, I was one of those girls who couldn't sit down for two minutes, and now as a teenager I still can't sit down for two minutes. I like keeping busy, whether it's teaching dance classes, learning my scripts, going to church, or (a girls favourite activity) shopping. I guess Sunday is a real relaxation day for me, where I get to go to church and hang out with other young people my age. I look to God for spiritual nourishment, which is something one definitely needs in this industry. Q:Being a Christian, h |
