Desde niña participó en el coro de la iglesia y en cuanto concurso de canto intercolegial se realizaba en su natal Manizales, donde nació el 10 de febrero de 1971. A la actuación llegó a través del modelaje, campo en el que empezó a trabajar luego de superar su timidez, pues durante el bachillerato siempre se consideró un "patito feo". Sin embargo, un concurso de modelaje en el que participó le demostró que era una cuestión de "look".Con el apoyo de su madre participó en varios concursos de modelaje y de belleza. El último de ellos fue para representar a Colombia en Miss Piel Canela Internacional, realizado en Acapulco, México.
Trabajó en numerosas series de televisión antes de trabajar en Yo soy Betty, la Fea , donde interpreta a Sandra Patiño.
Sus pasatiempos son bailar, tejer, leer literatura que aporte felicidad al alma y escuchar todos los discos de Ricardo Arjona, su cantante favorito.
