At the age of 15, Alison Pill has already established herself as one of the most promising young actresses today. Having been working since she was ten (or “a third of my life,” as she puts it), Pill has starred with actors such as Farrah Fawcett in the TNT original movie Baby, Judy Davis in Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows and Sissy Spacek in the Lifetime Original Movie Midwives. Pill also showcased her comedic side in Trimark’s Skipped Parts with Jennifer Jason Leigh. During the 2000-2001 television season, critics took notice of Pill’s solid performances. The Hollywood Reporter called Pill “simply spectacular” in her role as the grief-stricken child of Farrah Fawcett and Keith Carradine in Baby. Her roles in Life with Judy Garland and Midwives have garnered great reviews from Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and many others. Pill began performing at a the age of 3, studying at the National Ballet School and the Toronto’s Children’s Chorus, along with private voice and dance lessons. Her first feature was Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang, which starred Miranda Richardson and Gary Busey. She played an autistic girl in The Last Don II, was blind in Louis Braille, and portrayed a violin prodigy in Life Before This, which received critical acclaim at both the 1999 Toronto International Film Festival and 2000 Berlin International Film Festival. In November of 2000, Pill was awarded the Best Young Actress Award for her work in The Dinosaur Hunter at the Burbank International Children’s Film Festival. She has also received Golden Sheaf and Young Artist Award nominations for her portrayal of a young dancer in Degas and the Dancer. Her numerous television roles include The Other Me, for the Disney Channel, Stranger in Town, God’s New Plan, Different, A Holiday Romance, What Katy Did, Locked in Silence and Dear America: A Journey to the New World. Pill has also lent her voice to the animated series Redwall, Anatole and Braceface. She has made several guest appearances on series such as Psi Factor, Chronicles of the Paranormal, Traders, Poltergeist: The Legacy and Fast Track. Most recently, Pill has just completed the Showtime Original Movie What Girls Learn, with Scott Bakula and Elizabeth Perkins. She is currently filming the CBS movie The Pilot’s Wife, with Christine Lahti on location in Nova Scotia.
