| Okay, she's one of my favorite stars. I think she's gorgeous, even when she was a little bit overweight (see capture)! Sophie Marceau, real name Sophie Maupu - born November 17th 1966 in Paris, started her filmcareer in 1981 (she was 15) in "La Boum" (including some nude scenes I believe... remember, a 15 year old girl doing JUST a nude scene isn't considered breaking the law in Europe, otherwise the film would have been banned, wouldn't it!).... Sophie also did "La Boum 2" one year later! Some of the other films she has done are "L'Etudiante", "Pacific palisades", "La note bleue", "Braveheart" (The oscar-winner) and "Anna Karenina". In 1999 Sophie will finish 3 films: "Lost and found", "A midsummernight's dream' and "The world is not enough". I haven't seen a Sophie film on Dutch TV for a long time, so I was glad when "Police" (capture) was on. Hopefully there will be some more real soon!! 17 November 1966, Paris, France; Born Sophie Maupu, Sophie Marceau grew up far away from studios spots until her 14th year. Back then, she was living in the Paris suburbs (Gentilly) and her father was a truck driver. At that time, she learned from one of her friends that Claude Pinoteau (a french movie director) was looking for new faces for a teenagers movie called Boum, La (1980). This movie was a success. She played in Boum 2, La (1982) then she bought back her contract with Gaumont when she was sixteen years old for one milion of french francs. Awards: - Cesar of Best Feminine Hope for La Boum II in 1983. - Elected Romantic actress for Chouans! (1988) at the Festival international du film romantique (International Festival of Romantic Movie) of Cabourg in 1988. - Moliere of the Best Theatrical Revelation for Eurydice et Pygmalion in 1994. |
