Anneka Svenska is a 25 year old actress with a 22 year history in acting, dance and theatrical training. She attended Jackie Palmer’s Stage school for 12 years gaining grades in all forms of dance and drama. She continued her education by gaining 10 GCSE’s, 3 A Levels, a BA Hons Degree in Dance and Drama and finally a Postgraduate acting Diploma from Guildford school of Acting. She continues to train in Meisner and various forms of drama at the Actor’s Centre, London, and has gained further qualifications in stage fighting, aerobics, horse riding and deep sea diving. Her native accent is Oxford English, but she can also speak basic French, German and Spanish, and is capable of imitating any accent from the USA, England and Europe. She began her training in theatre and worked within an amateur dramatic company for about 6 years before taking to London Fringe. She has since decided to concentrate in television and film where she has been cast as the lead female in several British shorts and a soap opera. She has worked opposite Billy Connolly and Daniel Auteil in two mainstream films and has also appeared in programmes including The Generation Game, TFI Friday, BBC 1’s Hero to Zero and the Rory Bremner Show. Recently she landed the role of host for 'outTHERE', a cult movie clip show. This was released on Channel 5 on Thursday 18th January 2001 and ran for 8 episodes. Because of its huge popularity and the immense viewing figures, it was repeated every Saturday night until the end of March. A second series has been filmed and is now airing every Wednesday night. This time it has been filmed using a blue screen studio to create a virtual reality appearance. This show has opened up many new and exciting opportunities and the media interest has been phenomenal. Series 1 is airing again every Monday night. More recently, Anneka has just finished filming a comical feature film called 'Al' set to premier at Picture House cinemas in October 2001. She plays the lead female and worked alongside York's most promising film company 'Blind Productions'. Anneka is also one of the online presenters for the movie review sections of AOL, MSN, Granada Popcorn etc. This takes her on adventures to London's world film premieres, where she meets the full cast of the latest movies and attending celebrities. Recent celebrity interviews have come from the world charity premier of Captain Corelli's Mandolin at Leicester Square's Odeon 2001. This has involved detailed interviews with Penelope Cruz, Michael Portillo, Jodie Kidd and David Ginola. Watch this space, as Anneka's next project is presenter on a new celebrity lifestyle programme, which is negotiating commissioning rights with many of the UK TV channels and should be airing later in both the US and UK later in 2002.
