De tanta insistencia Ana Sofía y Acened -su mamá- fueron a Promodels, una de las agencias más reconocidas de la ciudad, y se entrevistaron con Juan Calle, el dueño de la agencia, quien le sugirió que presentara un casting de fotografía. Apenas comenzó a posicionar su nombre y su imagen, los noticieros, las portadas, los contratos y el sueldo se multiplicaron: de doscientos mil pesos pasó a ganar quinientos, ochocientos y hasta un millón de pesos. De la joven 'Lolita' quedaba muy poco. Ana Sofía se convirtió en la imagen de una cerveza y de un banco y todo el país empezó a soñar con ella y sus 1,73 metros de estatura. Renovó el contrato con Pinel, participó en Colombia Moda, donde se convirtió en la revelación, y al tiempo empezó a estudiar Comunicación y relaciones corporativas. "Para mí el estudio es un placer y algo muy importante en mi vida". Por eso estudiaba en el avión, en el camerino antes de salir a desfilar o mientras la maquillaban para fotografías.
