Anne was born in Brooklyn, New York , November 12, 1982. Her father (Gerald) is an attorney, her mother (Kate) a singer/actress, she has at least one brother (Tom, 13) and goes by Annie amongst her friends. She grew up a tomboy in New Jersey. She attends Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and made the Dean's list this year. (Major - English, Minor - Women's Studies). If acting doesn't pan out, Anne would like to be an English professor or a psychologist. Her lifelong goal is to sing on Broadway. She is 5' 8". She was the first and only teenager admitted to the acting program, The Barrow Group. She is also a first soprano who's had the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall (twice) as a member of the All-Eastern U.S. High School Honors Chorus. For theater, Hathaway also studied at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey and at the inaugural pre-college summer program at the Collaborative Arts Project. Among the productions she appeared in were "Gigi," "Jane Eyre" and "Life on Earth." As Princess Winifred in "Once Upon a Mattress," she was nominated for the Paper Mill's "Rising Star Award" for the best high school performance by an actress in New Jersey Anne's big break came when she landed the role of Meghan Green on the Fox 1999 drama Get Real, which earned her a Young Star Artist Nomination (Best Performance in a TV Series - Young Ensemble, with Kyle Brent Gibson, Eric Christian Olsen, and Jesse Eisenberg). After the series was cancelled after one season, she returned home and started school at Vassar. Later this year, you'll be able to see her in The Other Side of Heaven, an independent film based on the true story of a male missionary in Tonga. Stats Age: 19 (b. Coolest place to shop: The grocery store. I like to cook, so it's a hotbed of impulsive creativity! Favorite college class so far: American politics. It looked at U.S. History from the perspective of immigrants. Personal cause: Encouraging people to be as cool as my brother Tom. He's 13, knows exactly who he is and what he wants, and never apologizes for or stops being himself! |
