| Date of birth: 1966 Place of birth: Berlin, Germany Die farbige Powerfrau, Jahrgang 1966, weiß sich zu bewegen, sie kann moderieren, hat was von der Welt gesehen und ist ein Hingucker. Kein Wunder, dass sie zu Beginn des neuen Jahrtausends zu den gern geklickten Beautys im www zählt. Nach Schauspielunterricht und Ausbildung in Gesang, Tanz und Moderation in Los Angeles und Berlin stand die Tochter eines farbigen Jazzmusikers und einer deutschen Schauspiel-Agentin 1985 erstmals im Tanztheater der Oper Berlin auf den Brettern. 1987 zog es die Tänzerin nach Paris mit Engagements im "Lido" und 1990 im "Moulin Rouge". Nach Gastauftritten in einigen Film- und Fernsehproduktionen arbeitete Campbell als Moderatorin bei VOX, Premiere, VIVA und dem ZDF. Mitte der 90er Jahre beginnt ihre noch junge TV-Karriere mit einem Gastspiel in dem vergnüglichen Familienmehrteiler "Vater wider Willen" (Regie: Peter F. Bringmann an der Seite von Christian Quadflieg und Suzanne von Borsody. Einen vorläufigen Höhepunkt findet diese Karriere 2000 mit einer der größeren Rollen in der Flieger-Serie "Drehpunkt Airport", einer Hauptrolle in dem TV-Spiel "Du oder keine" (2001) neben Florian Fitz und an der Seite von Klaus Maria Brandauer in "Jedermanns Fest". Bereits 1998 sah man sie in der Titelrolle in dem Dreiteiler "Julia - kämpfe für Deine Träume". Ihr deutsches Kino-Debüt als eines der "Drei Mädels von der Tankstelle" (1996) ging im Hagel der schlechten Filmkritiken unter. Es folgten Nebenrollen in "Jedermanns Fest" (1996) und dem Disco-Drogen-Movie "Fandango - Members Only" (1998). Noch aber bilden (Krimi-)Serien wie "Polizeiruf 110" (1995), "Tatort" (1996, 1998), "Soko" (1996), "Denninger" (1999) sowie Auftritte bei "Anke" (1999) oder neben Ottfried Fischer im Krimi "Der Pfundskerl" (2000) das Gros ihrer Leistungen als Schauspielerin. Carol Campbell lebt in Berlin und Los Angeles und liebäugelt mit passenden Engagements im Film-Mekka Hollywood. |
