Alizée, 17 years old, was born on the 21st of august 1984 in Ajaccio, Corsica, France. She has had a simple and happy youth on this island. Already at a very young age Alizée was looking for a possibility, to express herself atristicly. Since the age of four years old she was very attracted to dancing and when she was five years old, she took dancinglessons. This was her first contact with the showbizz, what attacted her very much. Later on she also took lessons in acting and singing. When she was eleven years old, in 1995, she won the first price in a design contest, by painting an aircraft. The price she had won was a journey to the Maledives and her design was painted on a real aircraft, which was baptised "Alizée". But her big artistic adventure started in the year 2000. Shortly after she competed in the show "Graines de Star" on the French broadcasting company M6, where she sang the song "Ma Prière" by Axel Red and won this show, she participated in a casting and was selected to make some try-out recordings of a song, of which the music was written by Laurent Boutonnat and the lyrics by Mylène Farmer, a couple that is standing high in the French charts for over 15 years now. The try-out recordings were that good, that Alizée was offered her first contract: she was to render the song "Moi... Lolita". Since her first broadcastings on radio and television, she has stolen the harts of many and has raised a hugh demand towards herself. From the first single in France over 1.2 million samples were sold and the single was the number 1 in the French charts for several months. Since the broadcastings of her first interviews and shows on television, everybody is impressed by her charms. Soon after her second single saw the daylight, "L'Alizé", which was released in France on the same day as the album "Gourmandises", what means delicacies. By now a few million samples of this album have been sold. The lyrics on this album were all written by Mylène Farmer, who was inspired by the tastes of Alizée and by Alizée's life. the songs are about her youth, her uncertainty, love and her greed. Alizée is the miracle of the year 2000 and by now you can see her anywhere! Press, radio, television, it is nearly impossible to avoid her. By now she has won several prices in France as well, under which the M6 Award en two NRJ Music Awards, for most promissing newcomer en for best website. After two up-tempo singles Alizée released the ballad "Parler tout bas" and made a promotiontour around Europe, always with the same enthousiasm. Bit by bit her album was released all over the world. In The Netherlands "Moi... Lolita" became a hugh succes, she stood high in the charts for several weeks and scored a golden record. By now her second single, "L'Alizé" is released in the Netherlands, which is not doing very well at this moment.
