On marriage to Jay-Z:

It’s a power struggle. But if I didn’t respect someone and they didn’t have that strength, then I would be bored. I wouldn’t be attracted to them.”

On having kids:

I’m terrified of having a child. “No way! I’m terrified of delivering a child because I saw my nephew being born. That traumatized me. I’m only 27. I’ve got time”

How her latest role, playing Etta James in Cadillac Records, took an emotional toll on her personal life:

“My mom had to leave the set. I don’t normally curse. Maybe twice a year. I have to be really livid. Somebody saying things or scheduling something where I’m not in control. It was freeing, but it was also the most emotionally draining time of my life. Every day I would come home; my eyes would be completely swollen”

R&B star Kelly Rowland didn’t cry over her failed engagement to American footballer Roy Williams – because she was “too busy” to be sad. The Like This singer was set to marry the Dallas Cowboy in March 2005 – but broke off the engagement and ended the relationship two months (Jan05) before her big day. Rowland admits she didn’t want to burden her former Destiny’s Child bandmates Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams with her relationship woes, so kept her problems to herself. She says:

“I didn’t have time to be sad. The group was about to go on tour, and I didn’t want to put a damper on B and Michelle.” And the Bootylicious beauty insists she has “no need” for sex. She adds,

“I don’t need it. It’s overrated. I get better kicks from going to beautiful countries and hanging out with my friends.”

Beyonce is absolutely mesmerizing and, thankfully, loves to show it all off in the naughtiest of costumes. We love that in a relatively short time, she has become an icon: Releasing numerous hit songs, acting in big-time films and being ever present in the media and on stage. She is certainly an influential powerhouse in her own right.
